Support the sound.
Serve the community.
Underwriting helps sustain Kool Breeze’s music, cultural programming and community connections. Businesses and organizations can contribute and receive a brief, factual on-air acknowledgment, subject to station review.
How underwriting works
Kool Breeze operates as a noncommercial low-power FM station. FCC rules permit acknowledgments of contributions while prohibiting promotional announcements for for-profit entities in exchange for consideration. The station retains control over programming and final broadcast copy.

Our on-air copy standards
These standards guide our review of business underwriting acknowledgments. Every script and recording must be approved before broadcast; a previously produced commercial may need to be rewritten and recorded again.
Information we can consider
- The contributor’s name and location.
- A website address or telephone number stated as contact information.
- Brief, neutral descriptions of products or services and identifying brand names.
- An identifying slogan only when its wording is nonpromotional.
Keep out of business acknowledgments
- Prices, discounts, special offers or financing terms.
- Claims such as “best,” “number one” or “better than,” and other qualitative or comparative promotion.
- Instructions such as “buy tickets,” “call now,” “shop today” or “book your appointment.”
- Purchase incentives, endorsements and sales pitches.

ILLUSTRATIVE SCRIPT · NOT A CURRENT UNDERWRITER
An acknowledgment can sound like this
“Support for Kool Breeze comes from [Business Name], providing [neutral description of services] in [City]. Information at [website address].”
The completed wording and recording require station approval. This example is not FCC approval of any particular announcement.
Website opportunities and FM acknowledgments
A website listing, digital placement or ticketing arrangement is reviewed separately from an on-air acknowledgment. Digital materials are not automatically approved for broadcast. Any FM mention must meet the station’s broadcast standards, even when it directs listeners to a website.
We discuss the scope, contribution, duration and any agreed recognition with you in writing. Website placements remain subject to applicable law and station policy. Paid digital placements should be clearly identified. Support does not purchase favorable editorial coverage or a station endorsement.
Start a conversation
- Tell us your organization’s name, contact information, services and community interests.
- We discuss suitable support opportunities and availability. No airtime is reserved by submitting an inquiry.
- The station reviews proposed copy and confirms the arrangement before scheduling an acknowledgment.
Our support form is an inquiry, not a payment checkout. We do not promise audience size, sales results or tax deductibility. Ask for the receiving organization’s details and any applicable documentation before contributing.
